HOLIDAY LOOKBOOK: SAILOR STRIPES

I apologise for the lack of posts over the weekend, its mainly due to a combination of bad weather and genuinely being busy in the past few days! Once again, I'm showcasing another couple of holiday purchases, surprise surprise bought from Topshop! I've been on the hunt for a striped cropped top, preferably long sleeved as its such a classic item to have in the wardrobe. I'm still hunting, but this one makes a nice alternative whilst I search, especially with the addition of the sheer floral appliqué edging! It makes the look summery, however I will easily be able to wear the top in winter with jeans or a skirt and tights. I also found these shorts, which aren't typical denim not only because they are looser and therefore more flattering, but also because they're actually made in more of a canvas material, which means they're lighter and softer. They create a casual, carefree look to just throw on when the weather's a bit warmer, with the stripes maintaining that element of classic chic. My skin is slowly reverting back to its chalky milk bottle self, as I had a few problems with removing and re-applying the fake tan product I brought away with me. Any shoots from here until I return home will be considerably less tanned for this reason.

Necklace - Miss Selfridge

I wish I had more variety concerning my shoes, but this would only be possible if I had an endless budget for suitcase allowance when flying! I will be back to a more varied range of shoes when I'm home at the beginning of September.

HOLIDAY LOOKBOOK: SUNSET HUES

Its the return of the circle skirt! This look comprises of almost all Topshop items, with the only exceptions being my heels and my mint floral headpiece (featured previously here). My boyfriend took me to this location at sunset, which looks out onto the whole of Pretoria; so obviously the views were pretty spectacular! The natural, more rugged surroundings and cool breeze at the summit meant I would need my denim jacket, which brought my circle skirt down to a casual level - yet another style that this skirt suits. Its just so damn versatile! Both the bralet and the necklace are holiday purchases bought on separate occasions over here, but they coincidently work so well together! Statement costume jewellery is always key in my outfits (I'm such a magpie), so this piece was another stunning item to add to my collection. I braved the elements for a few shots to show off my new mint bralet, in one of my favourite pastel colours - I seem to have gravitated to mint pieces whenever I am shopping recently! You might notice there are considerably more photos in this post - for some reason there seemed to be a lot to choose from as three different styles for the look were shot!

Such a pretty view and sunset I had to share it with you!

HOLIDAY LOOKBOOK: BIKINI LACE

Here's the second instalment of my pool shoot! Although it is not particularly the height of summer here, I just had to take the chance and shoot this pretty bikini coverup. I've been looking for a feminine lace piece for a while as its a classic summer item, to contrast with my black bikini. I'm a fan of bold, brightly coloured beachwear, but at the same time its always nice to keep it simple. Obviously its better not to complicate or over-embellish your outfit when going to the beach or by the pool, so I only add some sunglasses, a headpiece and my favourite anklets, which is probably even too much.
