NYE OOTD

Clearly it's a little late to be posting my NYE look to the point that it could almost be a throwback post, however here it is. Sparkle was the number one priority, as it is every year, so naturally I went straight to Oh My Love London's fabulous collection of sparkly lurex pieces and instantly found a winner! Playsuits, tops, dresses and shorts of all styles and colours to name a few in the selection were on offer to choose from. I finally decided on this glittery aubergine tight dress. The in-built shoulder pads add further structure and shape to the figure hugging piece and as it's so sparkly there was no need for jewellery, just a nice pair of heels!

These shots were quickly taken on my phone before heading out for the evening, which meant that they came out a little grainy - hopefully you can see the effect clearly anyway.

I hope the first week of 2015 has been a good one. Don't forget to check out Oh My Love London's website, which is currently having an incredible sale that you wouldn't want to miss out on! www.ohmylovelondon.com

RUSSIAN REPLICA

Happy New Year everyone! After a busy evening celebrating all the way back on the 31st December, this is officially my first post of 2015 (how strange it feels to type that!). It isn't specifically 'new year' orientated, as this is a look I had ready to post before I thought of taking any shots of my New Years OOTN, which will most likely appear in my next post. To start the new year off, I thought it would make sense for my first January outfit to be shot in the same spot that my first post was - my garden at home, where I grew up. A lot has changed this year, but I hope my blog can continue to grow with more success until I reach the 12 month mark. Here's to the best year yet for all!

From all white to all black. This look channels Anna Karenina, with the fur hat and snood combo making it especially Russian-esque. Yet another gorgeous purchase this Christmas was this amazing cape, bought whilst shopping in Barcelona. Like all shopping addicts and bloggers alike, I always have my eye on too many items in the shops when wandering, but as a student I don't always have the funds to buy them all (cry). A cape and a black coat were no exceptions on the top of my list, so I could kill two birds in buying this statement piece. This skirt is the softest moleskin material and begs to be stroked whenever I wear it. The boots are out once again, mostly because I haven't taken them off since buying them! The experience of wearing these shoes can only be described as walking on air; I can wear them for an entire day with no pain whatsoever - which definitely makes them winners!

L'HIVER BLANC

There's something particularly sophisticated about wearing an all-white ensemble. My gorgeous regular appearance, the white wrap coat, completely makes this look. A little sparkle is never unwelcome in my wardrobe and when in combination with the softest fur on the planet, this headband had to be worn for a look in a snowy landscape. There is such a variety of winter headwear in the shops at the moment, the gemstones add a little individuality and make more of a statement to your typical furry hair accessory. The two snowy white items work so well together; the winter offerings of Miss Selfridge this season have been so beautiful. I have been extremely lucky this Christmas holiday and have gained lots of new pairs of shoes (obviously of the heeled kind), whether these are Christmas presents or sale purchases. They will be worn and showcased over my next few posts. Today's boots are extremely high and elegant and give me another option to my usual go-to wedges for everyday wear - the slender heel also lengthens my little legs so I feel normal height.

A few of these shots have unfortunately come out a little grainy, but this is a sacrifice of having soft sunset light on my face and trying to create a slightly warming effect in an otherwise freezing scene!

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR....

Much like millions of people, Christmas is an incredibly exciting time for both myself and my family. This is why I have been MIA over the past few weeks as I have been so busy with festive celebrations and catching up with friends and family at home. The task of squeezing everything in over the holidays in such a short space of time is a hard one, but it's all worth it. These few weeks are
what I have been looking forward to over the past four months of intense uni work; it's definitely the best reward! We were lucky enough to enjoy a white Christmas, as it snowed heavily on Boxing Day. It was magical.

So, today's look. Both the boots and coat are December sale purchases. Shoes and coats have become pieces I obsessively collect and many would probably say I have too many, but obviously, a girl can never have too many shoes (or coats)! Although I may be a little late on the band wagon concerning the knee-high black boot trend, I was searching for a pair which were both comfortable and fitted nicely - these more than fit the bill! The zip detailing is both unusual and stylish and the leather is super soft. Good things come to those who wait - I would always recommend waiting for your ideal item when a trend becomes popular. It just gives time for it to settle in and stores to start producing a larger variety of styles. The silky black fur headband was bought just before Christmas and was particularly useful when exploring a chilled Barcelona. An icy setting was imperative for today's look with all the fur involved, and this requirement was pretty simple to come across after such widespread snowfall over the weekend!
